Buried/Unburied

Buried/unburied sheets of paper. Paper, several types, several dimensions, earth, soil, mud, stone dust.

This project is made by several series of buried/unburied papers.
What you see here is the first unburied white sheet of paper.
The next series are made of sheets of paper – white, printed, drawn, painted – buried in different soils, for some time, in different places. Chance, soil – the Earth itself – become co-creators.

Once unburied, the papers will be modified by humidity, weight and microorganisms who leave traces on the surface and the structure of the sheets. The results are drawn papers, heavy printed, pressed, carved by Earth itself. On plain white papers, the result is a surface, that reminds a small plot of land, a map of a place designed in the ground, as if the underground had designed its proper surface.
